Privacy Policy

Who I Am

This website, cuancounseling.com, is run by Cuan Counseling, PLLC, a solo counseling practice in Concord, New Hampshire. Thomas Davis, LCMHC, is the practice owner. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean Cuan Counseling.

This policy covers the website, not your therapy records

This policy explains what happens to information you share through this website. If you become a client, your health information is protected under HIPAA. My separate Notice of Privacy Practices explains how those records are handled, and you’ll receive a copy at intake. [Optional: link to the Notice here.]

What the website collects

  • Contact form. When you use the form, I receive your name, email address, and message. I use them only to reply to you and to set up a consultation if you want one.
  • Email and phone. If you email or call, I receive your contact information and whatever you choose to share.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, this one records basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type, and the pages you view. My hosting provider uses it for security and to keep the site running.
  • Images from other services. Some images on this site load from outside image services, which can see your IP address when your browser requests them.

Please don’t send clinical details through the website
The contact form and regular email aren’t designed for protected health information. When you reach out, a name, a way to contact you, and a general sense of what you’re looking for are plenty. We can cover the rest during a consultation.

This website is not for emergencies
I don’t monitor messages around the clock. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.

Cookies
This site doesn’t use cookies for advertising or tracking. WordPress may set a temporary cookie that’s required for the site to work. Any cookie of that kind holds no personal information.

Who I share information with
I don’t sell, rent, or trade your information. Website information is handled only by the services that keep the site and my communications running: my web host (Northwest Registered Agent) and my email provider. I’ll disclose information beyond that only if the law requires it.

How long I keep it
I keep contact form messages and emails from people who don’t become clients only as long as I need them to respond, and then I delete them. If you become a client, your information becomes part of your clinical record and is kept as New Hampshire law and professional standards require.

Children’s privacy
I work with adolescents, but scheduling goes through a parent or guardian. This website isn’t meant to collect information from children under 13. If a child under 13 sends information through the site, I’ll delete it.

Your choices
You can ask what information I have from your website contact, or ask me to delete it, by emailing thomas@cuancounseling.com.

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
